Huh. I found a Calvin and Hobbes strip wherein Calvin demands reform in the funny pages. The content is quite different, but that is quite a coincidence.
Here it is, with a freshly misappropriated one besides: (Wait a day or so for the pics to clear remote linking.)

I returned the stylus today. It worked excellently, but it just didn't help with line art, so I decided to save $90.
It appears that those lines are from a film called "Freaks", and from what I've seen, it looks like a good one. I think I may have to rent it, if possible. Apparently the DVD is coming out next year.
Also, it looks like I'm going to be going to Quebec anyways, though the itinerary is undecided. My folks thought it would be a good place for a short vacation (we haven't had one in years), so that is the destination for 4 days. Should be good, but of course, not nearly as it could have been.
In any event, Wonderland is still happening, as you know. I haven't been able to get a hold of Ash, Lulu or Pyle though. If you happen to read this and feel like trying them for me, I'd appreciate it.
COMMENTS:
Sorry, Katy. I didn't know you were moving when it was scheduled. You will be in our hearts and minds. *aww*.
Additionally, although I returned the stylus, I guess I'll post a little about my line art.
It was some model of Epson stylus, 1024 pressure settings, and some crappy crappy software bundled with it. All in all, a fairly good one, although I don't know the model number. The way I'm doing line art now is in black pen, overlaid with felt-tip, to get that thick, dark line you need. After scanning, I run it through Adobe Streamline to smooth it out. So, the lines are pretty sweet now. The problem is that when it rasterizes in Streamline, certain sections, especially curves, don't convert properly, and I end up with messy breaks I have to patch in Photoshop. And yeah, the shrinking thing works very nicely, but when I'm doing series for GIFs or something, my drawings are too small for that too work. Any suggestions?

Panel 1: I'm fed up with newspaper comics. They're stale, unimaginative and unfunny.
Panel 2: Incessant character based gags drag them down to mere observations based on presupposed familiarity with the comic. I demand growth! I demand realistic and thoughtful dialogue!
Panel 3: If comics aren't going to be enlivening or enriching, what's the point? Why do they bother printing what they surely must recognize to be trash?
POTENTIAL panel 4: What ever happened to Dick Tracy?

Open Water. Have you seen the advertisement? It's billed as being 'diabolically clever', but, even metaphorically, I can't quite see Satan scheming up a movie which really looks like "The Blair Witch Project", except it's in water, and they don't move much at all. It's also like "Phone Booth", in that ways, which also sucked. Producers should be more careful with their money.

Futureshop? Apparently so.
I went to Futureshop today to buy a tablet. Got quite a good one, but I may return it. Functional and useful as it may be, it doesn't really help with the one thing I really need it for: lineart. Drawing and scanning produces too many inconsistancies, especially with a high resolution scanner, but the tablet isn't turning out to be a practical solution. Well, we'll see.
Additionally, I was surprised to find Anoraknophobia at Futureshop. I bought it, of course. What movie is the whole 'one of us, gooble-gobble thing' from in "Separated Out"? I think I've seen it, and I've certainly heard it before, but what is it?
Also, it appears that Franz's miraculous call on "Fruit of the Wild Rose" is actually inadmissable, 'cause it's "THE Fruit of the Wild Rose". Still, good call.
Wonderland. Call people. Where's Ash?!

Victor, Lulu, Nicole, Rahul and Katy!
I haven't been able to get in touch with these people, so anyone I have invited, could you please invite them, and any other people I may have missed?
Especially Nicole, as I don't even know the new number.
So the plan is to meet at the front gates of Wonderland as close to 10:00 AM as possible. A lot of people will probably be taking the GO bus from Yorkdale Mall, so if anyone wants to get together to go together from there, give me a call.
Comment if there's anything left unsaid.

interim: YOU HAVE FAILED THE WORLD IS DOOMED
Damn. I had reason to be worried about the boss. I died. Strngely wnough, however, I got him down to exactly 9999 HP before I died.
This was valuable learning though. Next time, I'll know exactly what to do. I won't fail again. Hopefully...
I watched the Olympic opening ceremonies tonight. They really were exceptional. By far the best I can remember.
Additionally, does anyone know "Wheezy" from the Jefferson's? Well there was a lady at work today who sounded like her, if she was also a man. This lady was like, really hunched over too. Not as much as that one from Rideau centre, but pretty severely nonetheless. It was a jarring experience.
Quote of the day: "Research indicates that 'shakes may break the milk paradigm and bring new users to the category." Man, I thought advertising milk was stupid, but apparently there is a need to bring new "users" to the "category". The category of milk. This is almost inspiringly stupid.

My legs hurt even more today. I think it might be more than simple muscle fatigue. I might take tomorrow off work, just to see if it improves.
Another complication is my class schedule is all over the place. It may preclude me from working at the store next year, which would be unfortunate, as I wouldn't have any income. I'm going to have to take a careful look at my schedule, and see if I can work out some sort of strange schedule around it, or try to find some sort of incidental work. See, the courses I have chosen are not normal choices for the program I'm in (kind of a Scholar's Elective thing) , and I had to shuffle the sessions around to all sorts of weird places to fit them in. Well, it all works out, though I'm a little freaked out.

interim: Illegal Immigrants
Hmm. Something has been brought to my attention.
Gana La Verde, obviously translated as "Win the Green" is a Fear Factor -like show where the green is not money, but a green card.
Man, how pathetic is this? First of all, if I were an illegal immigrant, I would be really suspicious about auditioning for this show.
"Hey, we're doing a TV show. Are you an illegal immigrant? I'm not with the INS or anything."
At first when I heard about it, I thought that they were just going to give the "winner", though I am hesitant to apply that word to this show, a green card, and I was all, "Hey, isn't that against the law?". At least that would be straight with the contestants. But no, they will actually win a team of lawyers who will work for one year to GET them a green card.
Suddenly, I aspire to be a judge. Suggestions, Jonathan? I know, I know, impartiality, but if this queer came before me with his, undoubtedly greasy, myopic legal team, I'd frown and scratch my chin for a couple of minutes and then tell them, hey, nice try, but we don't really need more people in this country desparate enough to eat worms and lightbulbs to get on TV.
Too bad it's in Spanish, because otherwise I think they could get some good Neilsons from the KKK. Additionally, do the losers get deported? Even if that isn't in the contract, I figure someone's going to figure out that the word "illegal" might not just be for decoration, and put in a few calls.
Way to go, retards. You really thought this through.
I couldn't find the official site, but you can read more about it in this one, or this one.

My legs hurt. The front of my thighs. I don't even know if I can go to work. Aiya. Further updates when something happens, is decided, or fails to do either.
Additionally, comments:
1. I've never seen Judge Mathis. What's all this about?
2. Aight then. I shant post them. I'll just relish the accomplishment myself.
3. What's your problem, man? (This does not apply to Jonathan.)
Oh, also, MacHall, despite a lame comic this time, has compiled some nicely complementary Daily Show clips. Do any of you still read MacHall? Seems like I check it about once a month, if that.
